GET BOOKING: OSJ’S GLORIOUS SUMMER CONCERTS preview from Oxinabox

“Orchestra of St John’s glorious summer concert series boasts exciting classical musicians, wonderful venues and inspiring music as well as debuts from the country’s fastest rising stars.”

First up is rising star Elodie who last year performed with Ed Sheeran, Little Simz, Joan Armatrading, Ellie Goulding, Noel Gallagher and classical guitarist Alexandra Whittingham, who will soon be on her way to Dorchester Abbey.

There the former BBC Young Musician and member of the Chineke! Orchestra, will showcase the technical brilliance required for Glazunov’s dazzling Violin Concerto on June 8. This will sit alongside ‘Beethoven’s Tenth’, Brahms’ masterful first symphony took him at least 14 years to write.

Elodie Chousmer-Howelles will then return to Oxford’s SJE Arts on June 15 where she will perform Glazunov, alongside Tchaikovsky‘s much-loved Nutcracker Suite, Glazunov and Tchaikovsky being great friends and both conjuring the changing of the seasons in these two delightful works inspired by the Russian year.

As if that wasn’t enough, a week-long celebration of international youth, music and friendship will culminate in a stunning performance of Carmina Burana with the OSJ Voices in Oxford Town Hall on July 13.
