Visit to Kabul – Orchestra of St John's | Taking classical music out into the community

Visit to Kabul

Cayenna Ponchione

The wonderfully talented Cayenna Ponchione has just left for a week in Kabul, where she can work on the ground to help bring the Afghan Women’s Orchestra to Oxford next March.  She is staying with Peymana Assad (Councillor for Harrow, recently seen at our Refugee Week event at Somerville).  This trip will primarily focussed on meeting the young women of the orchestra, and doing some fundraising in Afghanistan.

Read more about the Afghan Women’s Orchestra, Ensemble Zohra, on their brilliant website.
